We had a table at Conway Pride 2019. Our goals for this event were community outreach and voter registration. Thanks to our membership who recognized the importance of this event and volunteered with us!

We had special stickers made for this event and Vice Chair Christi Berry crocheted a blanket to offer as a raffle. We collected contact information for at least 25 people who we hope will be active Democrats in the future!

Arkansas Democrats Adopt Delegate Selection Plan for 2020 National Convention

LITTLE ROCK — The Democratic Party of Arkansas State Committee, led by its Affirmative Action Committee and its Executive Committee, adopted its delegate selection plan for the 2020 Democratic National Convention. The plan specifies policies and procedures for electing Arkansas’s delegates and alternates, who will attend the 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee to nominate the Democratic nominee for president.

Party Like It’s 1919 Casserole Contest

This event was co-hosted by the Faulkner County Democratic Party and Faulkner County Democratic Women in honor of the centennial of Arkansas’s ratification of the 19th amendment, giving women the right to vote.

Honorees were awarded suffragette sashes for their contributions to local politics and community.

#LetsDoTheWork: Certain Little Free Class Pantry

According to Feeding America, approximately 1 in 4 Faulkner County kids face food insecurity. At March’s monthly meeting, we collected donations for The Certain Little Free Class Pantry at Conway High School.

Crystal Certain was also our guest speaker for the month. She shared her experience helping students and how the pantry got started in her supply closet. The main pantry currently averages more than 300 visits a day with attendance spikes before Food Stamps disperse. There are also satellite pantries to assist students in …

February was the first month of our new initiative to collect donations for a community group or need at our monthly meetings. At February’s monthly meeting, we collected donations for the Conway Ministry Center Winter Warming Station.

They identified the following as their greatest needs:

Toilet paper, trash bags, latex gloves, paper towels, 409 cleaner, coffee & creamer, styrofoam cups, laundry pods, feminine products, hot hands, gloves/beanies, socks/underwear, anddog food
