• If you’re attending college outside of your home county, you must decide which county you consider ‘home’. If you don’t intend to return to your original residence, then you may list your college address as your residence and change your registration.
• If you moved from one county in Arkansas to another, you must transfer your registration to your new county.
• If you moved to Arkansas from another state, notify the voter registrar in your previous state to request cancellation and register in your new county.

Primary elections serve as the method through which political parties in Arkansas choose their candidates for the upcoming November general election. You also have the opportunity to select candidates for non-partisan positions, such as judges and school board members.
January 5th, 2024 – applications open for absentee ballots for the upcoming primary.
February 5th, 2024 – deadline to register to vote in the March primary.
February 19th, 2024 – early voting for the March primary begins.
February 27th, 2024 – deadline to receive absentee ballots in the mail.
March 1st, 2024 – deadline to change registration by county.
March 5th, 2024 – Presidential primary, non-partisan elections and annual school board elections.
It’s also known as a mail in ballot. An absentee ballot is a paper ballot that you can vote on and submit before Election Day, instead of voting in person at your designated polling place. It’s essentially a way to cast your vote if you know you won’t be able to make it to the polls on Election Day.
Here are some additional things to keep in mind about absentee ballots:
• You must first fill out an application for the ballot.
• You must have a copy of one of the accepted picture ID’s to send in with your ballot.
• Your signature must match your registration card that’s kept on file at the county clerk’s office.
Once your application is accepted, you will receive your ballot in the mail.
• You can still vote. This is called a provisional vote and IT WON’T COUNT until you go to the county clerk’s office and show them your ID.
• This has to be done NO LATER than noon on the Monday after Election Day.
Wearing any shirts/buttons/hats, etc supporting a candidate, issue or ballot measure into the courthouse/polling station.
This is strictly forbidden.
If you’re going to be 18 on or before the next election date, you can register to vote.
